Book Tag: Mid-Year Freak Out Tag

Hello!

How are we just over halfway through the year already?! I found this over at Fantastic Books and Where to Find Them last year and thought it would be fun to do it again this year. I hope you enjoy and feel free to join in!

Happy reading!

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2021:

A predictable answer but true. A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. I love this series so much and her books always bring me so much joy, ACOSF was no exception. We all need a little Nessian in our lives.

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2021:

Witches of Barcelona by Caedis Knight! I love these books and the sequel was everything I hoped it would be. I can’t wait to read the next book!

If you haven’t read the first one yet, I definitely recommend giving it a read!

3. New release you haven’t read yet but want to:

You’re the One That I Want by Simon James Green. I’m so excited to start reading this asap! It’s at the top of my bought TBR so I’ll hopefully be able to read it within the next couple of weeks.

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:

Julia and the Shark by Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Tom De Freston! I love their work so I’m ridiculously excited to read this and have already pre ordered a copy!

5. Biggest disappointment:

Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam. I think this is one of two disappointments of the year, sadly the books jacket and stenciled edges as the only thing I liked about it.

6. Biggest surprise:

I don’t have one. I knew I was going to love everything I did before starting.

7. Favourite new author (Debut or new to you): (Gifted)

Felix Ever After. By far one of my favourite books I’ve read! I adored it and will read anything and everything Kacen Callender writes. Definitely my new favourite author!

8. Newest fictional crush

Ummm, I don’t know?

9. Newest favourite character:

Prince Tarron from Stolen Shadow Bride, obviously. I mean, it was going to happen. There was a reason a friend showed me the cover because I’d like it.

10. Book that made you cry: (Gifted)

Love Me Not by Holly Smale. I don’t want to spoil it so I won’t say why, I cried a couple of times throughout. You can check.out my review here.

11. Book that made you happy: (Gifted)

Show Us Who You Are by Elle McNicoll. This made me smile for so many reasons and is one of my favourite books! There are so many heartwarming moments throughout, I can’t recommend this book enough! My review .ca be found here.

12. Favourite book to film adaptation you saw this year:

Shadow and Bone by far!!!!!! I loved every single episode, the casting was perfect too!

13. Favourite review you’ve written this year:

I don’t think I have one this year, I’m overly critical though.

14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received):

My your edition of A Court of Silver Flames! I love the simplicity of it and the intricate details of the design.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

Mina and the Undead, You’re the One That I Want and Infinity Reaper! I’m so behind on this year’s releases.

I Tag:

I’m keeping this as an open tag for anyone who wants to do it.
