Blogmas Day 11: Six Books to Read When You’re in a Slump

Happy Friday, Book Dragons!

In a reading slump? We’ve all been there. I’ve got you covered though, from contemporary to fantasy, retellings to magic, here’s six books to read to get you out of that book slump. I hope you enjoy.

Happy reading!

Some books in this post were gifted by publishers.

Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron: (Gifted)

Cinderella Is Dead is just incredible! Set 200 years after the death of Cinderella and follows Sophia as she heads to the ball for choosing. The ball goes horribly wrong, Sophia ends up on the run and uncovers the real truth about Cinderella.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas:

ACOTAR is my go-to book when I’m in a slump, or just need a comfort read. I adore this series so much, A Beauty and the Beast retelling with Fae. I cannot recommend Sarah J Maas enough!

A Treason of Thorns by Laura Weymouth: (Gifted)

This book is unputdownable, I read it in two sittings and loved every single page! Beautifully written and feels like you’re actually there, you can read my review here and find out more.

Heartbreak Boys by Simon James Green: (Gifted)

Heartbreak Boys, or anything written by Simon James Green. Laugh out loud funny, heartwarming and relatable. Jack and Nate embark on a road trip together after finding out their boyfriends cheated on them.

The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins: (Gifted)

This book is phenomenal! I read this one last year and not a day goes by when I don’t think about it. I still don’t have any words to convey just how much I loved it. I will read anything Sara Collins writes.

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson: (E-ARC gifted)

I read this during a slump and I could not put it down. Magic, libraries full of grimoires and a centuries old conspiracy. Sorcery of Thorns is stunning, gripping and honestly a must read.
