Synopsis from Goodreads:
A raucously funny middle grade adventure for fans of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman… Twig is the last surviving apprentice of the great wizard Ripplemintz, which, as a job, is just as terrifying as it sounds. Oh Ripplemintz always means well, but for a wizard of such high regard he really does make an awful lot of mistakes. And who’s always left to clear them up? That’s right – Twig. So when Ripplemitz’s most powerful spell is let loose on the world, off Twig goes to catch it. And catch it he does, except… not quite in the way that he intended. Because, instead of catching it in an enchanted jar, Twig sort of… well… catches it in… HIMSELF. Brilliantly funny, with bags and bags of heart, The Accidental Wizard is destined to leave you completely spellbound.
I knew I was going to enjoy this from the first page. Twig, a wizard’s apprentice accidentally catches a spell inside himself, becoming the world’s most powerful wizard. Though, all twig really wants is to be rid of his new power. So alongside Vile, a hag and gnome, Glimfinkle Twig travels to visit Witch Wormwood to remove the curse before the Euphonium he’s expected to compete in.
I’m sucker for books about magic and The Accidental Wizard was no exception. The world building is one of my favourite things about this book, it’s beautifully vivid and feels like you’re actually there. The friendship between Twig, Vile and Glimfinkle is full of funny, chaotic and heartwarming moments. Throughout the book are incredible illustrations by Jason Cockcroft. I loved this one and will be recommending it to everyone I know!
The Accidental Wizard is unputdownable from start to finish and full of laughs, heart and unlikely friendship.

THE ACCIDENTAL WIZARD CHALLENGE
A spellbinding quiz all about the world of magic
What would you rather be: a wizard, a witch, or a hag? Ooooh, definitely a witch!
If you could be ANY creature from a fairy tale or folklore, what would you be and why? I would definitely be a dragon, because who wouldn’t love to one? They’re awesome!
If you could have just one magic spell that would always work for you, what would it be? A spell to make rooms bigger so I can fit more books inside them.
If you were accidentally granted a super power or ability, what would it be? I’d love to be able to turn into an animal at will, that would be awesome!

This sounds like a fun read! Even the names are fun! 😀
