This review will is spoiler free for The Queen of Nothing but will have spoilers from the previous books.
I can’t believe it’s over, I’m going to miss these characters. The Queen of Nothing is absolutely brilliant from start to finish! You know those books that leave you feeling a little lost and disoriented after spending so much time in that world with those characters, and then you’re unceremoniously kicked out at the end? That’s exactly what this one is like.
Set after events in The Wicked King, Cardan is on the throne against his will, Jude is in the Mortal world, living with Oak and Vivi after marrying Cardan before he exiled her. Taryn is married and living in Faerie and Madoc is making a move for the crown. Will he take the crown? Only time will tell. It’s all go in Faerie, I lost so many hours sleep unable to tear my eyes away from the pages. I have no regrets though, you know a book is good when you stay up half the night reading.
There’s less plot development in this installment, though plenty of twists and character development to keep readers glued to the pages! I love the character development, especially Jude’s and Cardan’s. Don’t get me wrong, Cardan is an awful person, he’s a brilliant character though! There’s more to him than meets the eye and you get to see a different side to him. Can we talk about Madoc for a sec. I love a bad guy, It wasn’t until this book that I both loved and despised him in equal measure. That’s the kind of bad guy I love! I could talk for hours, instead I’m going to leave it here and let you read this stunner of a book for yourself.
The Queen of Nothing is an epic conclusion to one of my favourite trilogies. I highly recommend reading them, if you haven’t already.
