General bookish fun, Wrap-up

Wrap-Up: December Highlights

Hello!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I haven’t read much this month, I decided to catch up on TV shows instead. I also took a much needed break over the Christmas period, I’m excited to get back into blogging again and spend another year shouting about all the books. There’s some brilliant books publishing in 2020 that I’m excited to read.

I want to take a minute to thank you all for reading my posts, following my blog and all of your support. It means so much to me and I’m grateful for everything.

Happy reading!

Events:

The Waterstones Piccadilly Christmas evening is one of my favourite events to attend. There’s mulled wine, authors and lots of bookish fun. This year Emma Thompson, Greg Wise, Warwick Davis, Katie and Kevin Tsang were there signing books and Warwick signed the Tenable board game or anything you wanted. I had so much fun!

I love going to S&S events! Everyone is lovely, they always put together a fun crafty activity for us to do (we made baubles this time) after telling us about all the brilliant books coming out. Proofs of Infinity Son, Jackpot, Yes No Maybe So and And the Stars Were Burning Brightly were available for us to pick up, a proof of Loveboat, TaiPei were in everyone’s goody bags. Infinity Son mugs were also put out on the table for people to take, I love mine and can’t wait to use it.

I was invited to the Penguin Platform Christmas party, this was my first Penguin event which was really exciting. It was hosted at Drink, Shop & Do. There was wine, food and books and goodies. We had the chance to sit down and get crafty making Christmas hats. It was so nice to hang out with bookish friends and I picked up some brilliant books too.

What I read:

The Grateful Boys by Françoise DuMaurier – ★★★★

The Bear Who Went Boo by David Walliams (audiobook) – ★★★★

The First Hippo on the Moon by David Walliams (audiobook) – ★★★★

Heroes: Mortals and Monsters, Quests and Adventures by Stephen Fry (audiobook) – ★★★

The Christmasaurus Musical Edition by Tom Fletcher (audiobook) – ★★★★★

What I’m reading:

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera:

Its not what I was expecting, I’m really enjoying this one so far and loving the combination of superheroes and Phoenixes and can’t wait to read the rest.

How was your December, did you read anything good? Let me know in the comments!
