Happy Sunday Book Dragons!
It’s December 8th already, the month is flying by. The Piccadilly Christmas evening is one of my favourite events of the year, I had the best time getting christmassy in one of my favourite places and meeting some amazing people!
I arrived early as Emma Thompson and Greg Wise were signing copies of Last Christmas, this signing was limited to 100 customers and I was desperate to be one of them! I went straight up to the third floor and immediately got in the queue clutching my copy. I could not contain my excitement, they’re so lovely and generous with their time, Emma even changed the rules so everyone could have a posed photo. Everyone was also given a Last Christmas tote bag, I love it and can’t wait to read the book! A portion of the profits of each book go to Crisis and The Refugee Council.
I then stopped to listen to the wonderful Crisis choir who were singing Christmas songs before going downstairs to see Katie and Kevin Tsang and get some of my Sam Wu books signed, I got to meet baby Evie who is the cutest, my heart melted!
I then popped upstairs to meet my friend who was still in the queue to meet Emma Thompson and Greg Wise with her friend, we then went over to meet Warwick Davis! I couldn’t stand still I was so excited. Warwick was happy to sign anything you took which I was so grateful for as I couldn’t afford to buy the game then. I was still just as starstruck as I was when I met him in the Disney Store. He’s still one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting! If you ever get the chance to meet him, definitely take the opportunity.
We stopped by the Dishoom table for a hot drink, I can’t remember what it was called, it was delicious though. I left soon after as I was tired, I had so much fun though and can’t wait till next years.
A huge thank you to the Waterstones events team, booksellers, authors and publishers for an amazing evening!
It is! I definitely recommend coming down for it, there’s always a variety of authors from cookbooks to children’s.
