Wrap-Up: September Highlights

Hello!

It’s been a fairly quiet month, it was exactly what I needed, though. I’ve had the chance to read more, catch up on blogging and binge watch Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (which is brilliant, by the way!)

Happy reading!

Events:

IMG_20190904_213126_658.jpgInto Thra, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance exhibition:

I went to this three times, it was that good! The exhibition featured sets and props from the TV series, along with behind the scenes info and voiceover and photo ops. Before entering we were given Gelfling ears, an exhibition guide with quiz and find the hidden word. If you found the hidden word and gave it to the member of staff at the exit you got a free poster!

IMG_-gbbndv.jpgJay Kristoff London Event:

I went along to Jay Kristoff’s London event, chaired by the brilliant Samantha Shannon. It was such a fascinating talk, after we had the opportunity to get our books signed and have photos taken.

IMG_d6f80c.jpgThe Foundling Proof Party:

I was invited to the proof party for The Foundling by Stacey Halls, the author of the incredible The Familiars. Hosted in Brunswick House in Vauxhall. We were given a proof copy on our way in, I can’t wait to read it! There was wine, a silhouette artist and photo ops. We had the chance to chat to Stacey and get our proofs signed. I had so much fun, though I had to dash off early to make a launch party in Brixton.

IMG_-bm60xs.jpgWith the Fire on High launch party:

I was invited to the launch of Elizabeth Acevedo’s The Fire on High. This was hosted at the pop up shop in Brixton dedicated to this book. The campaign for this title has been incredible and it was a privilege to join in the celebrations. I was also invited to the Latino Jazz night in the same place the next night. I was gifted copies of With the Fire on High, All the Things We Never Said, Out of Heart and Powers of A Girl. I can’t wait to read and talk about them on here!

The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins (audiobook) – ★★★★★
