Wrap-up: June Highlights

Hello!

It’s July already, where is the time going? Soon it’ll be time for YALC, I’m really looking forward to it! The end of June means it’s time for my monthly wrap-up, I’ve been to some awesome events and read some brilliant books recently. Here are some highlights from the past month.

Events:

As soon as I saw the announcement I snapped up a ticket. I adored To Kill a Kingdom and Zenith so there was no way I was missing it. I have Summoner: The Novice on my TBR, I’m hoping to get to it before YALC. This was one of my favourite events, the questions were hilarious, interesting and fun. I picked up a copy of Contender: The Chosen, I was sold from the second Taran mentioned there were dinosaurs in it. If you ever get the chance to hear them talk, I highly recommend going!

I went along to Scholastic’s Summer of YA Love in Waterstones Piccadilly. Beth Garrod, Simon James Green and Laura Wood talked about their books, teen years and Kenneth Branagh. There were mocktails, photo ops and goodie bags. I had so much fun and love my new Alex in Wonderland tote bag.

I can’t tell you how excited I was when this was announced and immediately bought a ticket! I adore the Three Dark Crowns series and been impatiently waiting for Kendare to come over, it was definitely worth the wait! They talked about the books, the inspiration behind them and Anna Dressed in Blood. After the talk there was the opportunity to get books signed and photos. I’m so glad I went, definitely go to their talks if you get the chance!

  1. Looks like you had an exciting book an event-filled month! Unfortunately, there were no book events in June for me but I am looking forward to going to YALC in July!
