Blogmas Day 22: The Christmas Stocking Tag

Hello!

Today I have my last Christmas themed tag To share with you all. This tag was created by the brilliant Kate, please check out her blog when you get a chance, it’s awesome! I had so much fun answering these questions!

IMG_20181218_001212.jpgAn orange! Which book is refreshing and vibrant, both inside and out?

Fierce Fragile Hearts! Honestly, it’s so incredible, beautiful and perfect. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. It’s definitely as bright and shiny inside as it it out!

IMG_-g82o8m.jpgThe next thing you see is a bag of chocolate coins. (Yum) Which book have you recently bought that was expensive, but totally worth the high price?

I don’t often buy expensive books, Kingdom of Ash was expensive because I bought different editions.

WP_20170505_002You also pull out a bath bomb. Tell us about a book that had explosive action scenes.

A Court of Wings and Ruin and Kingdom of Ash! Oh my god, I was a nervous wreck through out those scenes!

Next is a pack of playing cards. Which series won you over?

His Dark Materials (I know), this was going back to my teen years. Northern Lights was put in my hands by a teaching assistant, convinced I would love it as much as Harry Potter. I laughed, but took it anyway. He was right though.

20181018_115917.jpgYou also get a candle. Which character is a symbol of hope in their story?

Aelin Ashryver Galathynius. I don’t know how much I can say without spoiling it though, so I’ll leave you to find out why for yourself.

There are socks inside too. Is there a book that you think really encompasses all the distinctive tropes of its genre?

I’ve been put on the spot here and can’t think of one.

There’s also a notebook. Which author’s writing process do you find most interesting/inspiring?

Is it bad that there’s so many that I can’t think of one? Does that even make sense?

To go with the notebook, there’s a fancy pen. Is there a book or a series that you’d change if you’d written it yourself?

I don’t think I would, the good and the bad make a book what it is.

There’s also a small bedside clock. Which book took you a long time to pick up but was worth it in the end?

We Were Liars by E Lockhart, it was on my TBR pile for ages before I started reading it. I can’t believe it took me so long!

IMG_20180515_135525_026Your pile is getting really big. You reach in to pull out the last gift and it’s… a lump of coal? You’re a little disappointed. But you look closer and realise there’s a seam running through the coal. You crack it open and sitting inside is a tiny golden snitch. Tell us about a book that surprised you in some way.

Ace of Shades, I really struggled for the first half or so. It really picked up and I ended up loving it!

I tag:

I’m late to the party on this one so I’ll leave it as an open tag.

  1. I’m so happy you did this tag Nicola, I loved reading your answers! I totally agree with you on Ace of Shades, I found it a bit slow to start, but ended up really enjoying it once I got further into the story! Merry Christmas, hope you have a lovely holiday season!
