August wrap-up

August has been a fairly quiet month, which was handy as I was exhausted after YALC and definitely needed the break after a very busy July.

Feminism in YA:

I was given a ticket by a friend who couldn’t go, I jumped at the chance as I missed all of them at YALC. Christina Henry, Dhonielle Clayton and Sarah Maria Griffin, chaired by Lydia Gittins of Titan Books. They talked about their books, books they love, feminism and What they were working on next. It was such a fascinating and insightful event, I would definitely recommend going to one of their future events. I will definitely be going to their events again on future.

Tomi Adeyemi event:

I bought a ticket to this as soon as they went on sale. I usually do this around YALC to ease the pressure of trying to do everything and meet everyone. It was chaired by Charlie Cuff, they talked Children of Blood and Bone, diversity, magic and books they love. This was one of my favourite events, Tomi was interesting, funny and such a nice person. We were also given an awesome map and print.

Blog tours:

Show Stealer

What I’ve read:

I’ve not had The best reading month as I was too tired for The first couple of weeks.

The Island by M.A. Bennett – My review will be up in the next week or so.

Catwoman: Soulstealer – I haven’t finished this yet, I’m trying to make it last.

City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab – My review will go up on the 6th.

YOLO by Jesse Vallance – I loved this one, keep an eye out for my review and another awesome post.

How has your August been, what are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments!
