Last month I went along to Jacky Sylvester’s launch for her debut novel Wunderkids, which was hosted by Jacky at The Workers Cafe on Kingsland Road. This time I didn’t go solo as I met up with the lovely Ana and Paige again – definitely check out their fabulous blogs. I also got the chance to catch up with other bookish friends.
The room was beautifully decorated with lights, LED balloons (which are fascinating and pretty when you’re a little tipsy), candles, flowers and copies of Wunderkids. I’ve been to few launch parties before, this one was more of a party than formal book launch which was fun as I’ve only been to a few that were fairly formal. I’m not usually a party person, I had so much fun though!
I couldn’t try all of the food as i’m a vegetarian. I did try the cakes and meringues, which were so good. No party is complete without a few glasses of wine, which I might have overdone. We got the chance to have a chat to Jacky, who I should lovely and kindly signed our books and posed for selfies.
I had an awesome evening, thank you so much Jacky for inviting me and putting on a brilliant party! I can’t wait to start reading Wunderkids!
Omg those cupcakes *drools uncontrollably*…
