This was one of my most anticipated 2017 reads and it’s did not disappoint, it also has the most gorgeous and intricate covers i’ve ever seen. The Language of Thorns is a book of six fairytales from the Grishaverse in a stunning hardback edition, three of which have previously been available as E-books. My intention was to read one a week, once I had started I couldn’t stop reading. They’re beautiful, dark and utterly enchanting with the most beautiful illustrations by Sara Kipin throughout that add to the Beauty and magic of the stories, one thing I love is how they change as the stories progress. There isn’t much more to say without spoiling them for you.
From monster princes, witches to mermaids and clever foxes these gorgeous and dark tales will delight both new and old fans of Leigh Bardugo. These intricately woven twists on some of our most beloved classic fairytales are well worth reading.
