Dip in to discover the curious habits of magical beasts across five continents …
‘No wizarding household is complete without a copy’ Albus Dumbledore
There isn’t much to say about this edition as its so similar to previous editions. I have to say I do love this updated edition of Fantastic Beasts, the new edition of Fantastic Beasts is illustrated by Chris Riddell and features six new Beasts from the latest movie, including the Thunderbird. I’ll leave the others as a surprise. It lacks the fun annotations from Harry, Hermione and Ron, the foreword by Albus Dumbledore but the new beasts, gorgeous illustrations and brand new foreword by Newt Scamander himself more than make up for it.
The general format is the same as previous editions and each beast still has its MoM rating, Newt’s introduction offers a more detailed and fascinating insight into the history of fantastic beasts and how they fit into the magical world. This edition offers a fascinating insight into Beasts we’ve previously only seen in the movie and is a must have for any Potter fan!

This sounds so good! I haven’t really read any of the HP add-ons like this one or Tales of Beedle the Bard so I’m definitely adding this to my TBR!

I’m definitely going to have to buy this copy! I have the little red one that stays in my Harry Potter book chest, so this one would be fun to display!
